I'm trying to plan a cruise for my boyfriend but he can't fly due to a head issue. I wanted to go on a cruise that visits the Southern Caribbean and the only way to do so is departing from Puerto Rico. Is there a way we could take a ferry from Florida to Puerto Rico?

There are cruises to Puerto Rico from many ports on the US east coast, including NYC & Florida. Check the cruise lines for prices & itinerary; Caribbean Princess, Carnival, Celebrity & Royal Caribbean are some of the lines serving the Caribbean.

You can also check commercial shipping lines, some of them do allow passengers.

Perhaps 1 day you can catch a ferry in Miami to Cuba, from Cuba to Santo Domingo & on to PR, for now the Castro bros stand in the way.

Many don t have the idea that you can visit Puerto Rico only from USA without restrictions. If coming down on a cruise, because they stop in other countries you may need a passport, but if you come by airplane you don t need a passport from a USA airports; is like going from Atlanta to New York, etc. Puerto Rico is a very civilized country and they have crimes just like in any other State. If you know a little Spanish, it helps, but if you are in a hotel and sometimes on the street, you will find someone who could help you, just speak slowly and friendly so they can understand. Most of the puertoricans know travelers need help because they travel a lot, too.

No inmigration. Puerto Rican Communist Party ? The PSP disbanded years ago, their leaders are among other socialist groups / organizations, none using the word communist in their names. Are you sure you have a job waiting for you here? Is Puerto Rico considered the same as a US state? No same as an US territory, like Us Virgin Islands. Can a citizen of the 50 states just live in PR like any other state? Yes, tax laws are slight different for apart of that, every is similar. Is there any paper work or immigration process? Well, If you want to drive a vehicle here you will need to obtain a permit from here and also you may want to contact the Social Security agency to change your address.

There is no ferry from Florida to Puerto Rico. You will need to check with cruise companies for the options available departing from Florida and stopping at Puerto Rico.

a ferry? well, there is the ocean-going ferry between Mayagüez, on Puerto Rico’s west coast, and Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic. Currently the massive rainbow-colored ship sails three or four days a week in each direction.

and there's an irregular ferry service between Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, with ferries leaving Fajardo twice a month.

maybe you should depart from miami for your cruise and just include puerto rico as a stop. i suppose you could hire a boat in miami to run you down; probably cost as much as your cruise.

Miami is certainly one of the most popular vacation areas and with hotelbye you'll find out more. Miami has anything for everybody; from the modern nightlife of South Beach, bejeweled by the eye chocolate of the Art Deco district up to the bustle of Calle Ocho and the extremely caffeinated energy of Little Havana. The Art Deco District provides straight back memories of an earlier time in Florida with its beautifully repaired 1930s Art Deco structures and is a place properly visited the same as Bayside Marketplace. This place is really a large outside fashion mall with increased than 150 specialty and tourist stores, numerous cafes and restaurants, and day-to-day live entertainment.

There is a "Repositioning Cruise" from Jacksonville FL (departs 4/18/2016 aboard the Carnival Fascination) that ends in San Juan. But he'd have to fly back after the cruise.

There is no ferry available from Florida. Talk to a travel agent, they can tell you how to arrange your cruises in order to get you to PR, cruise the southern Caribbean then back to florida. Also you can contact some sea transport company's and ask if they take passengers, and how much. Your third option is to charter a boat. Good luck.

Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic and the oldest European town in the Americas and if you wish to see one of the UNESCO World Heritage List then, that hotelbye may be the place. Santo Domingo is just a collection of countries and neighborhoods. It's where in fact the seems of life, domino pieces smacked on platforms, backfiring mufflers and horns from severe traffic. In one's heart of the city could be the Zona Colonial, wherever you will find one of many oldest churches and the oldest surviving European. Also, in the Zona Colonial you will discover Gazcue, one of many city's oldest neighborhoods, filled up with old Victorian properties and tree-lined streets.

You HAVE TO FLY and if you can't do THAT then you can STAY HOME. You can NOT LEAVE A CRUISE at mid cruise without the permission of the CAPTAIN OF THE SHIP and YOU WON'T GET THAT. Cruise ships are NOT COMMON CARRIERS.. they are CRUISE SHIPS and they MUST return with the SAME PASSENGERS THEY LEAVE PORT WITH.. If you DO try to sneak off the ship, THEY WILL COME AFTER YOU.

People who are so IGNORANT and IMMATURE that they want to try getting a ONE WAY trip to the Caribbean.. SHOULD JUST STAY HOME then they won't create an INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT.

They have you PASSPORT NUMBER and you WON'T GET OFF THE ISLAND and if you DO then you WIL be ARRESTED when you try to re-enter the US at ANY PORT.. you DO know that.. right.. or are you so IMMATURE that you can't UNDERSTAND HOW SERIOUS THIS IS?
